*Drinking LOTS of water, and salted water
*Pickle juice for a quick hit of salt and electrolytes
*Bulletproof coffee and/or taking MCT oil

An excerpt from a recent issue of The Chatter:
Q: I was wondering, if we have boffee for breakfast, does this break our fast? After all, cream, butter, and coconut oil do have calories, so I’m a little confused why we’re told drinking these does not affect our fast?
A: Excellent question. It does seem like this would break the fast, since it is food! However, it doesn’t.
On the other end are the “counter-regulatory” hormones, which oppose the action of insulin, and govern the metabolic processes that happen in the fasted state. So essentially, if we keep these hormones around, and keep insulin suppressed, our metabolism will remain in the “fasted” state.
Insulin is secreted when we digest carbohydrates or protein, but not fat. So we can essentially maintain the fasted metabolic state by consuming only fat as our food, which is the case with Bulletproof coffee (boffee).
